In several countries radio amateurs can use a new radio amateur band, called "8 meters", from the
approximate wavelength of the signals. The frequency allocation is different for each country, although most of the current activity is at
40.680 MHz in FT8 mode.
In Italy we can use this band, for now, as an experiment going from August 30, 2024 to December 31, 2024.
The frequencies we can use are in the range 40.660 - 40.700 MHz, with a maximum power of 10 Watt.
Moreover, we must upload our logs for this band, within 24 hours, on a web site run by ARI, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Industry,
at the web address: https://sperimentazioni.ari.it/index_main.php?a=2024&b=8m
Looking at the lists and maps on this site, we can see which countries can use the 8 m band at the current date (November 2024).
